Mobile Car Key Programming in Sutton & South London
Have a spare key or fob that needs pairing to your car? Our mobile auto locksmiths program transponder chips, remote fobs and keyless smart keys to your vehicle immobiliser on site, restoring secure locking and engine start without a trip to the dealer.
Every key built since the late 1990s carries a transponder chip that exchanges an encrypted code with the immobiliser the moment you turn the ignition. If that handshake fails the engine will not start, even if the blade fits the barrel perfectly. Programming is the process of teaching your vehicle to recognise a new chip.
We connect dealer-level diagnostic equipment to your OBD II port to write the key into the immobiliser. On vehicles with locked or encrypted modules we read and edit the EEPROM directly to recover PIN and security codes, so we can pair keys that generic tools cannot touch.
Bring us a key you bought online, a dealer-supplied spare or a fob from a breaker and we will tell you honestly whether it can be coded to your car. We confirm the make, model and security type from your registration first, then quote a fixed price before any work begins.

Vehicle Brands We Commonly Support
We cover most makes and models. If yours isn't listed, just ask — send your make, model and year for a quick check.
Please note: final availability and price depend on your vehicle's make, model, year, key type, security system and location. We confirm both before attending — no obligation.
How It Works
A clear, four-step process — from your first call to a job done right.
Confirm the Key
Send your registration and tell us where the key came from so we can check it matches your immobiliser and quote a fixed price.
Plug In
We connect dealer-grade diagnostic kit to the OBD port, or read the EEPROM directly on locked vehicles, to access the security system.
Code the Key
The transponder and remote are written into the immobiliser and synchronised with your central locking and alarm.
Verify
We test locking, unlocking and engine start on every key, then confirm everything works before you pay the agreed price.

Frequently Asked Questions
Can you program a key I bought online?
Often yes, provided it is the correct part for your vehicle and the chip type matches your immobiliser. We always verify compatibility from your registration first, because an incorrect or cloned blank may not pair and can waste both our time and your money.
What is the difference between cutting and programming a key?
Cutting shapes the metal blade so it physically turns the lock. Programming codes the electronic transponder and remote so the immobiliser allows the engine to start and the buttons operate the doors. A modern key needs both to be fully functional.
Do you use the OBD port or read the EEPROM?
We use OBD programming wherever the vehicle allows it, as it is fast and clean. On cars with encrypted or locked control modules we read the EEPROM directly to recover the PIN and security data, which lets us code keys that plug-in tools alone cannot.
Will programming a new key affect my existing keys?
Adding a key normally leaves your other keys working. For security, an all-keys-lost job erases every previously coded key from the immobiliser so any lost key can no longer start the car, then we code in the new working set.
How long does car key programming take?
A straightforward add-a-key on OBD often takes around 20 to 40 minutes. EEPROM work, all-keys-lost and some proximity smart keys take longer, but we give you a realistic time along with your fixed price before we start.
