uPVC & Composite Door Lock Repair Across South London
If your uPVC door handle has gone floppy, stiff or refuses to lift and lock, the multipoint mechanism inside is usually failing, and we repair or replace gearboxes, handles and the full strip on site, stocking the common parts so most doors are working again in one visit.
A uPVC multipoint mechanism drives several hooks, rollers and bolts from a single handle lift. When the central gearbox wears out the door becomes hard to lock, or worse, locks shut and traps you out. Catching the early stiffness usually saves a more expensive failure.
Many uPVC problems are not the lock at all but door alignment. As houses settle and seals compress, the door drops and the hooks no longer meet their keeps. We can often realign the door and adjust the keeps so it locks smoothly again without any new parts.
While we are there we strongly recommend swapping a standard euro cylinder for a TS007 3-star anti-snap version. Lock snapping on uPVC doors is one of the easiest break-in methods in the UK, and a good anti-snap cylinder defeats it for a modest cost.

Frequently Asked Questions
My uPVC handle has gone floppy. What does that mean?
A floppy handle usually means the spring or gearbox inside the multipoint mechanism has failed. The door may still lock for now, but it is on borrowed time. We can fit a replacement mechanism on site, often during the same visit.
The door is stiff to lock. Is it the lock or the door?
Often it is alignment rather than the lock. As the door settles, the hooks no longer line up with their keeps and it becomes stiff. We can frequently realign the door and adjust the keeps so it locks smoothly again with no new parts.
Can you replace just the cylinder, not the whole mechanism?
Yes. If the multipoint mechanism is sound but you want better security, we can swap the euro cylinder alone for a TS007 3-star anti-snap version. This is a quick, affordable upgrade we recommend on every uPVC door.
Do you have the right parts for my door?
We carry the most common gearboxes, handles, strips and cylinders on the van and can identify the brand on site. For unusual mechanisms we source an exact match quickly, but most repairs are completed in a single visit.
My door is locked shut and will not open. Can you help?
Yes. A jammed multipoint is a common emergency. We open the door, usually non-destructively, then repair or replace the failed mechanism so you can lock and unlock normally again.
